Bike Ride and Chopsticks

Sorry. I don't have any pictures, but today Travis took Bailey's big giant wood pedals off his bike. I met them out at the Trinity Trail after Travis pulled B in the trailer for 24 miles. Bailey got to be "one of those big boys" (as he calls them) and rode his bike on the trail. He was fast! Picture me in slacks and sandals jogging down the trail.

After Bailey finished riding we ate at Pei Wei and Bailey ate most of his food with chopsticks (withe the help of a chopstick holder).

Dusting

Bailey started writing in the dust, so I asked him if he wanted to dust the tables. He is really into helping out lately, so he was excited to do it. I went to the kitchen briefly and started hearing some grunting noises coming from the living room. This is what I found.

Museum Day!

Bailey and I headed to Fort Worth today for Day in the District. All of the area museums were FREE and there were various performances too. In all, we went to four museums and walked about 2 miles! I probably carried Bailey for 3/4 mile. It was an exhausting day, but we had a great time!
Here is Bailey posing by a giant dinosaur. It was so big, I couldn't get a picture of the whole thing.

Bailey loved the Mondo drummers!

Learning how a windmill works.
Old truck hauling a cow.

Watching for a tornado.

Attempting to hula-hoop.

Giddy up!

We went to the Cowgirl museum, then headed down the street toward the Modern museum. Bailey saw this water feature (at the Kimball) from a distance, so we HAD to check it out. We ended up going inside and did the quickest tour the musem had probably ever seen. Bailey's favorite part was a surface computer in the Mayan exhibit.

Outside the Kimball.

I studied the Kimball Art Museum in architecture school. It's just a building to Bailey, nothing special at all.

Next we headed to The Modern. Bailey's favorite part was the steel sculpture outside the museum. I didn't get any pictures of the sculpture, but here is a link to a picture and information about it.

As we were leaving The Modern, there was a local university choir singing in the steel sculpture. It wasn't one of the planned performances of the day. We were grateful to have been able to hear them. It made me realize how much I miss "real" choirs. Most church choirs that I have been in since high school have had at least one person who can't hit a pitch to save their life (but who wants to tell them they can't sing when they are giving glory to the Lord?).
The line to the Children's Museum (inside the FW Museum of Science and History) was really long earlier, so we headed back to see if it had died down. I'm glad we came back because Bailey really enjoyed it.

After we left the museums, we headed to a local park. I really don't know how he had any energy to play. I was exhausted!

ABCs - Take One and Take Two

Last night Bailey was singing his ABCs really well and dancing and playing the air guitar all at the same time. Here is Take One from Saturday.

Yes, that is a "cha cha cha" at the end.

Here is Take Two from Sunday

Moving Rocks

I came home from work today to find two boys in the yard moving rocks. Bailey is at an age when he really wants to help out. Don't do anything that we wants to do or he'll get all huffy and puffy about it.

New Glasses!

Yes, I know I'm behind in posting to the blog. Maybe I can work on it this weekend???

Bailey Can Spell His Own Name!

Today Bailey was playing with Aunt Lori's iPhone. All by himself, he spelled his name using the note app. What big boy he is becoming!

Camera Fun

Bailey got a hold of my camera today. He and Aunt Lori took some pretty funny shots. Hopefully Lori doens't mind if I post some that B took of her.

Lori took this one of B.
Then he started clicking away!
Lori is a really good sport.

Now it's Bailey turn to pose.

Back to Lori....

Then Jason!
Keep in mind that this is just a small sampling of the pictures that Bailey took. He filled up my memory card and that is the only reason he had to stop taking pictures!

Dinosaur Valley State Park

Jason and Lori were in town this weekend so that Lori could get certified to teach Zumba. Today Jason, Bailey and I headed to Dinosaur Valley State Park.
These actually are NOT the kind of dinosaurs that supposedly left footprints at the park. The kids love them regardless.
BEFORE we got all wet... being careful not to step in the water.

You can see several footprints in the water.
Bailey stepping in one.

Jason is reaching his hand up into the claw area. It is pretty deep!
A perfect sitting area for B.

I didn't get any pictures of the Blue Hole, where some areas of the river are 20 feet deep. The rocks in the river were really slippery and I'm lucky I didn't lose my camera while I was in the shallow areas. There was a rock ledge around the edge of the Blue Hole, then it just dropped off. Bailey had a good time swimming and chasing little fish.

Clean Up the Toilet

Bailey started singing a "scrub, scrub, scrub" song from his Kindermusik class while I was cleaning the toilet, then he made up his own song: "Clean up the Toilet!" I asked him to sing it to me again so I could get it on video.

Here is the picture he requested!
