Learning Weekend

Learning to write. Look at that form! Last weekend I explained to him how it helps if he holds the paper down with his other hand. It must have sunk in.
Learning to play nicely. Bailey and Austin got in the little recliner all by themselves.
Putting a puzzle together.

Here Comes Trouble

Bailey's pajama shirt is very fitting.
Travis caught this shot from across the room. I don't think Stinky is very happy.

Good Night!

Bed time. Bailey likes to hold one to three stuffed animals when going to bed. A sure sign of tiredness. Bailey is touching his nose.
Let the tired noises begin!!!

Baby Snapping Turtle

This is one of the latest critters we've come across in our yard. Travis found this tiny turtle while mowing the yard.Bailey and I kept it safe while Travis mowed the rest of the yard, then we let him go.

All Clear for Bailey

Bailey has been seeing a hematologist because some of his blood counts have been low. We were concerned, but not too much because he is the spitting image of a healthy kid… no allergies, no medications, he’s very smart, healthy, and no physical signs of a problem whatsoever. Well, after several rounds of tests (not afraid of needles, I might add), and being a mystery to the doctors because of his good health, he got the all clear today. The hematologist believes that he may have had a virus several months ago that affected his counts, and it has just taken a while for them to get back to normal. He’ll go back to have his blood work checked again in a few months and if they are still normal we don’t have to be concerned about this ever again!
We are truly blessed that Bailey is so healthy. The scariest part of the whole ordeal was the fact that Bailey had to go to the Hematology and Oncology Clinic. Most of the kids who go there are extremely sick, and we got to walk out of there with no problem at all. Thank you Lord!!!

New Chair

This is Bailey in his recliner he inherted from Lillie and Payton. He climbed up into the chair with his book without any prompting.
Such a sweet face (a little dirty).
He was back at it the next morning too. The book is open to his favorite pages again.

The Boys in Amarillo

After attempting to leave on Friday, driving for 2.5 hrs, overdrive light flashing, stopping on the side of the road, making it to a Ford dealership, then driving 2.5 hrs back to our house with a total of 6 people in the truck and a 24 foot trailer in tow, the boys finally made it to Amarillo by Saturday evening (short version of story = don't switch back and forth from drive to overdrive).

I've been working on a big project at work so I worked all day Saturday. On Sunday and Monday I did some spring cleaning. I love my boys, but I enjoyed my little break.

The Diary of a Plate of Food

This was my plate. Notice how I keep the salad separate from the pasta. I was feeding Bailey from my plate until he decided he wasn't going to eat any more unless he was feeding himself.
The spinach salad (chopped up with a Pampered Chef chopper) is still separated from the pasta, but not for long.
Starting to combine the flavors. He doesn't get that from me.
Remember, this is MY plate. This is about the time I took it back and had to deal with the spinach-pasta combo platter. YUM???

Gate Business?

Not intentionally. A neighbor mentioned something to Travis about needing a gate for his RV area. There was no "Yes" or "No" in the conversation. A couple weeks later he asked, "So when are you getting started on those gates?" I personally think Travis is too much of a perfectionist to do gates. Notice how you can't see any of the welds? CRAZY! By the way, Travis says this is part of his ONE project.... The yard.... and everybody elses.

Very Strange Visitor

I turned on the light in the kitchen this morning before 5:30 A.M and something started flying around. I first thought it was a big moth, then perhaps a barn swallow or chimney swift. It landed on the kitchen floor and I could clearly see that it was a bat. I woke Travis up when I screamed, but he laid there assuming I found ants again (I HATE ants). I told him we had a bat in the house and he didn't believe me until he saw it for himself. Travis caught it with a bowl. Outside, he tossed it up in the air and it flew away.
_
We didn't even know that bats lived in this area. We have NO CLUE how it got in the house. I'm just glad Bailey's bedroom door was shut last night.
