Side of the Earth

Today B says "Do you know we are on the side of the earth? I feel sideways (he leans over), do you?"

Bailey shot a bottle with a bb/pellet gun today. He did pretty good after Travis drew him a visual.

Learning About Magnets

Bailey was really interested in magnets today.

HOT Rangers Game

We went to a picnic and Ranger's game with my company tonight. It was over 100 degrees F with no wind to speak of. Bailey enjoyed meeting some new friends, but overall it was very hot and miserable. Travis' face in this picture pretty much explains it.

We left in the 6th or 7th inning and headed to a local restaurant for an appetizer and dessert. Then we got a laugh as we drove around this building to park to watch the fireworks. It is a bowling school and museum. I didn't know there was such a thing.
Bailey got to watch the fireworks from the sunroof as Travis and I watched from the air conditioned car.
The grand finale.

Today Bailey did lesson one in "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons". 99 to go!

Crazy Hair and New Summer Tent

Bailey woke up this morning with box-like hair.

The new summer tent arrived today so Bailey and Travis tried it out. It was 91 degrees F when they went to bed. I didn't think they would last through the night, but they did!

Not a Tent

Bailey thinks this box of checks that we received in the mail today is a tent. He doesn't believe me when I tell him it isn't a tent.

Lady Bugs

"Imagine" by John Lennon came on the radio and Bailey asked "Is this the Lady Bugs?" Of course, he meant "Is this the Beatles?"

The Circus!

Lessons learned and thoughts about the circus:
1. Monster trucks don't fit in parking garages.
2. When did circuses turn into musicals?
3. What makes someone want to join the circus? In high school do you tell your friends you are going to circus school? How do you even join the circus?
4. My favorite part was the crazy human contortion/balance/strength act.
5. Bailey liked the elephants the best.
6. At the circus you can sell a $3 toy for $22. Yikes!
7. I was particularly interested in the whole mechanics of the production and the orchestra that had to play according to circus act. Very impressive.
8. I have great husband who dropped off me and B, found a parking spot on the opposite end of downtown, then left a few minutes early to run to the truck so me and B didn't have to walk across town. His truck won't go into downtown again. It is too big!

Donut Stop, etc.

Bailey and I met Carrie, Claudia and families at The Donut Stop this morning. It's always nice to get to see them in person. It stinks that we live so far aways.

Side note... I forgot how good The Donut Stop's maple crunch donuts taste. I put the "Wellness Program" (coordinating at work) on hold for a day. Yum!

Carrie and sweet Carson.

Claudia and Carson.

The girls and most of the kiddos.

B being silly as usual.

I didn't take many family pics. Here is one with Grandpa Gloe and B's new light saber.

Discovery Center

Today we spent some some with some dear friends of mine, then Bailey and Reagan headed to the Discovery Center!

Always a crazy face!

Putting on a show.

Reagan wanted to put on a theatrical production. Bailey just wanted to be a boy.

This is a Discovery Center favorite.

Row your boat gently UNDER the stream

If you sing "Row, row, row your boat" and Bailey corrects you saying "No, its UNDER the stream" here's why.

Yes, that is Travis singing "under the stream" while gargling water in the shower. Bailey thinks that is the way the song is supposed to be and he loves it!

Fun in the Water

The sprinklers were turned on for about 10 seconds to check out something in the valve box. That was just long enough for Bailey get all wet, clothes and all. We the sprinklers on for a few minutes since he was having such a good time.

Saturday Morning

Bailey got up Saturday morning and continued playing with Star Wars toys. Later he had me get down a Star Wars book so he could thumb through it. He kept asking me to tell him the names of the characters. He doesn't understand that Mommy is really not into Star Wars.

Star Wars

While Bailey watched a Star Wars movie, Travis headed up to the attic to bring down two more boxes of Star Wars toys from when he was a boy. Here he is, preparing to show Bailey the toys.

B is really excited!

I'm told one of these At-At Walkers was given to Travis by his Aunt Alana.

Playing...

Flying...

Now, back to the movie!

Tomato Juice and Umbrella

I grabbed some "tasty beverages" for me and Travis on my way home. Bailey said he wanted a "tasty beverage" too. I asked him what he wanted and he said V8. They didn't have V8 so I got tomato juice instead. I told the man at the checkout counter that it was for a four year old and he asked me to bring that little boy in so that he can meet him someday.

Here is B with tomato juice on his face. I actually took this picture so he could see his head in combination with the man on his shirt.

Later B went out to play in the water. He started out under the umbrella, then ended up having a great time running through the water, getting soaked from head to toe.

BTW - He considers the baby JD push toy as his lawnmower, so I can't get rid of it. It has gotten a lot of use.

Learning to Clean

Today Bailey actually wanted to help me clean. He cleaned the bathroom sinks with baking soda and vinegar, then he helped mom the kitchen floor. He slowly becoming a good little helper.

Racing Barefoot

Earlier, Bailey tried to get Austin to come outside and walk barefoot on the grass, but Austin didn't want to go barefoot. After a little coaxing, Bailey talked Austin into taking his shoes off. They ended up racing each other across the yard. They had a blast!

Running in the Flowers

Bailey thinks these are bluebonnets. He is having a great time running around in the pretty flowers.

Dirt

The neighbor's yard is now ready for topsoil and grass! For ten years now, this area never supported any vegetation. Hopefully by this fall, it will be green!

After Travis popped up the rock in the lower area, he graded the slope up above and then replaced the rock with one to two feet of dirt. A french drain will go in later.

The rock/dirt that Travis popped up. We are awaiting a rock bucket...

Sleepy Boy

I came home "early" from work (5:30 ish) to find a little boy asleep on the office floor. I think he was pooped out from yesterday.

Too Hot for Dinosaurs

We headed to Dinosaur Valley State Park today. It was hot, Travis was tired from working the day before and the river was dry except in the deep spots. We really didn't feel like swimming in stagnant water, so we'll have to go back another time. We hiked around to check out the campsites.

Later today, we headed to the lake to feed the ducks. Bailey thought the geese were out to get him today. He stayed right by my side, so it was really hard to get a picture.

Bubba Teeth

Bailey found these teeth today while he was cleaning his room. He couldn't get the top part under his lip, but it didn't matter. He looks hilarious!
This is the last picture of B in his brand new glasses. He is usually pretty good at keeping up with his glasses, but I think he lost them on his way over to a neighbors house. Hopefully we will find them. At least he still has his old glasses and they are the same prescription.

Let's Wave Goodbye

This is a daily occurrence. Every day as I am leaving for work, Bailey says "Let's wave goodbye," then he moves his little fingers up and down. He is so sweet!
