Fun in the Water and "Hiding"

Bailey went to a park with Austin (Bubba) on Saturday.

He was "hiding" on Sunday.

Alphabet Flash Cards

Travis found an alphabet flash card game on the internet. The site, Boowa & Kwala was designed by a "Franco-English" couple for their daughter back in 1997. Some of the letters aren't how we say them in the U.S. (Z = zed), but Bailey doesn't care too much.

He doesn't do it in this video, but sometimes Bailey repeats the letter after the character. He is so smart!

Oh Nice!

This is Bailey's new thing to say when he's doing something or thinking about doing something he's not supposed to.

Question of the Day...

Should a little boy wear a helmet and body pads to protect himself from himself?

On Wednesday Bailey was driving his tractor around the yard and turned too tight around Travis's truck and smacked his forehead into the bumper. He appears to have a slight diamondplate pattern on his forehead. He cryed for less than a minute then wanted to go back outside and play.

Today Bailey had another run in with the entertainment center. He sliced open the side of his face, right by his left eye. Travis took him next door to get a nurses opinion and she said it wasn't deep enough for stitches. Steri-strips seem to be doing the job. I'm not sure when Bailey is going to learn that he is going to lose out when running full speed at the entertainment center.

Here's videos of how Bailey runs around like a crazy guy. He won't slow down!

Bailey was in his pajamas all day, chilling to keep his mind off his boo boo. By the time I got home from work, he was excited to play with Austin, then came inside and chased Stinky around.

Yard Project Update

Here's a picture of my (eventual) groundcover. It's not exactly covering the ground yet. I'll probably plant more on this side this fall, as well as the other side of the stairs. A lot of the ones that looked dead a couple of months ago are sprouting little leaves now, so I didn't kill them all! Some of them are growing like crazy while others are just doing OK.
Here are several pictures of the forms and rebar that Travis worked on. He spent a lot of time making sure that he had the right heights so that everything would drain correctly. We had a couple of weeks of rain in July that set this part of the project back, but the plants sure liked it and really needed it.

Flagstone will be laid over the sidewalk, so Travis installed aluminum rails to set the concrete height along the front porch and driveway where the flagstone will need to be flush with the existing concrete.

We have a sidewalk!
After checking out the new sidewalk, here is the surprise I got as I was walking around the house with Bailey.... More Dirt!

Like Mother, Like Child

Bailey is continuing the brownie batter eating legacy.

Backhoe

Travis saw Bailey sitting on his tractor like this yesterday and just thought he was being silly. Today Bailey told me he was using his backhoe.

Here's Bailey telling me what he is doing.

We got about 30-40 loads of dirt dumped in the bottom area of our yard yesterday. I'm sure a few neighbors aren't too happy, but most of them don't have standing water in their yards for 10 months out of the year. It's either due to a city water leak of a natural spring (which is an urban legend in the neighborhood that still hasn't been proven to be true or false). We'll probably hydromulch it after it is graded.

Happy Birthday Papa!

Here's several clips of Bailey saying Happy Birthday to Grandpa Gloe. Today was the first day that Bailey said "I love you."

Dad, I hope you had a great birthday! We all love you!!!

Dancing to Candlebox

Travis must have been dreaming about the old days today and got out a Candlebox CD. Now we have another generation that likes that music too. Bailey is quite the dancer. He must have learned from his Dad!

Familiar Tune/Tractor vs. Da Du

Bailey's Alphabet Pal has a different tune for each letter of the alphabet. He stopped when he heard the familiar tune of "I've Been Working on the Railroad." He never ceases to amaze me.

Bailey's language skills are growing every day (and he can even read some words), but there are two words he refuses to say correctly: moi = more, da du = tractor and rabbit, frog and grasshopper = hoppy.
