Two Birds

Bailey and Travis had some errands to run in Fort Worth today. They stopped at Chili's for a late lunch. A table of women sat behind Bailey and Travis. When the women got up to leave, they said "Bye" to Bailey. He said "Bye" back, then turned to Travis and said "Those ladies liked me." He is definitely a ladies man!

They dropped by the "big park" to play before heading home.

Park, Library, Shopping, Hiding, Cheese!

Bailey and I went out on an adventure today. We first played at the playground area of Soldier Spring Park, then went hiking on the nature trails. We had barely started walking on the paved trails when Bailey saw a dirt trail going up a hill. This is what we found at the top of the hill. Purple flowers, brush and prickly pears.

This was another area Bailey wanted to go see. I'm assuming this is a popular hang out for kids on their trick and mountain bikes. There was a broken bike in a small pond and a lot of trash. If you overlook the trash, it was really pretty. We'll have to bring a trash bag the next time!

We found bluebonnets at the park! Here's B's annual bluebonnet pictures. You'll have to excuse his crazy hair!

After the park we headed to the library. He got to see some dinosaur bones there. This was actually his first trip to the library. He calls it "Wifebrary." I know he'll be begging to go back soon.

After the library, we headed to 3 different stores. He did so well, I took him to Petsmart to look at the animals.

We had to go to one more store, then we went home. While I was cooking, Bailey called from his room "Come find me!" Where's Bailey? That boy really needs to clean his room.

We all sat down to have a family dinner. I got Bailey's fajita mostly ready, then he wanted to put the cheese on it himself. I proceeded to get my fajita ready. When I was ready for the cheese, I found the plate that once held the cheese to be almost empty. Where's the cheese? I only had to look to Bailey's fajita. He didn't see anything wrong with it. He's definitely a Hughes. Want a little fajita with your cheese?

We went down to the bottom of the yard to talk to Daddy and Bailey decided he wanted to help out. We went back to the house, changed shoes and grabbed some shovels. All three of us were digging a trench in the yard so that the supposed "natural spring" water would flow out of our yard. Bailey had a great time digging.

He fell over on his booty, but he didn't seem to care.

What a mess!

There was an air show in the area, so lots of jets were flying over throughout the day.
Play with Stinky....

You can't hear it well on the video, but he keeps telling Stinky "Steady, Steady." I'm not sure where he got that from.

Bake Cookies... YUM. No pics. Bailey was a good helper! We made oatmeal chocolate chip and raisin/craisin cookies.

Play with Austin... Austin came over tonight and played with Bailey for a few hours. They had a great time.

Big Lizard

Bailey and Travis caught this lizard today. I think it is a Texas Spiny Lizard. Bailey would only hold it after our neighbor Vicki held it. I guess he figured that if Vicki would hold it, it must be OK.

I think that either Bailey or I deleted the pictures of him in his bed boy bed, but here's a video. Notice Corn, Mickey and the other stuffed animals that he strategically located.

Double Chin

Bailey thinks that God made him extra special because he has TWO chins. Under his chin is probably his most ticklish spot (and the goofy boy ASKS to be tickled). He is obsessed with his dimple too. He often has his finger stuck in it, pointing out his dimple, then pointing at mine.
