Still Learning to Feed Himself

Bailey Vacuuming

This may now be Bailey's favorite toy. After eating his breakfast this morning, he headed straight to his vacuum. It supposedly can really vacuum up stuff, but it needs more power! It may be a project for Bailey and Daddy (grunt, grunt).

Lots of Fun

Sweet and Sour

Boy of a million faces....
Sweet face
Sour face
Common denominator: Stuff on his face.

Loving Stinky

After Bailey chased Stinky around the house for about 30 minutes, Stinky was tired. Bailey wasn't ready to give him a break yet.

Scootin' on Tractor (finally)

He's still working on the steering, but getting better. About a week ago he figured out how to steer his tractor while walking behind it.

Feeding Bunny

We haven't scared the bunny off yet. We can feed it grass tops with our hands. Bailey loves him and Stinky seems to be getting along with the bunny too.

Andrew's Party

Bailey usually loves being around other kids, but he was more into the toys today. He played while all of the other kids ate their food and while Andrew was opening his presents.
He LOVED the kitchen set, especially the side with the grill!

Happy birthday Andrew!

1st Pizza

I'm not sure that this really is a milestone, but it was Bailey's first time to eat pizza. Unless we are at other people's houses or if we eat out, which is rare, we try to eat "good" stuff (no high fructose corn syrup, no hydrogenated oils, no "fake" sugars, no processed free glutamic acids (MSG). Yes, this is hard because this junk is in just about everthing. I'm not sure what is in Papa Murphy's pizza, so tonight was an exception. It was tasty!

Upside Down

Chasing Bunny

Disclaimer: No bunnies were harmed in the shooting of this footage. The bunny was rediscovering its original nest when we left it.
_
For my Mom, the bunny lover:

Three bunnies were born by a tree in our yard. Here are is one at about 10 days old.

The mommy bunny moved them when they started to get more mobile for obvious reasons (us and Stinky). One of them came back to visit today. It' s about 25 days old now.

Bear Hug

Tonight I walked into Bailey's room to see him hugging his bear. How sweet!

The next night I asked Bailey for a hug and he ran to me and gave me a BIG HUG. Then I asked him to go hug Daddy (especially since it was Daddy's birthday) and he did. It brought tears to my eyes!

First Camping Trip

On Friday we headed to Mineral Wells State Park for Bailey's first camping trip. We ended up staying at the primative camping sites which were over a two mile hike from the trailhead. It would have been a tough trip without a toddler, but it was even more challenging with one in a jogging stroller. We often had to lift the stroller over rocks or narrow parts of the trail. He was a little noisy at times (sometimes fussy, sometimes full of laughter, especially when it was time to settle down and go to sleep) so it was probably better for other campers that we were a bit isolated.

Day One - Friday, May 2, 2008

Daddy is checking out the trail and campsites. Notice Bailey's cup. Daddy's (MacGyver's) idea so the cup doesn't hit the ground and get dirty when Bailey throws it.

Checking out another campsite.
Found a campsite with a fallen tree nearby. Bailey loved it!
Playing in the dirt and ashes near the fallen tree.
Day Two - Saturday, May 3, 2008

Bailey on the fallen tree. He would bounce back and forth as if he were riding a horse.
Bailey, Daddy and the tent.

Bailey and Mommy at the lake. He DID NOT want to leave the beach. We'll have go back back to swim or go canoing when it is warmer and not as windy.

Bailey playing in the leaves at the picnic area.

Bailey and Mommy on the Lake Front Trail.

Bailey and Daddy on a big inclined rock.

A crack/passageway at Penitentiary Hollow.

Who's that monkey in the tree? The rock walls at Penitentiary Hollow are popular among climbers. We may have to get some gear in a few years and take up a new hobby.
Crazy Tree - just thought I'd share. This tree is growing on top of rock. Very strange.
