Trip to the Summit

A 3.5 day trip without my boys? It was so hard for me to leave. I missed them so much! Thank goodness for cell phones. I talked to Travis and Bailey often on the trip.

What a crazy trip! Me and 30 fellow employees got on a charter bus and headed out of Fort Worth at 9:00 PM Wednesday night. We drove all night and after a little detour in the Denver suburbs, we finally arrived in Estes Park Thursday afternoon. We thought we were going on a 7.4 mile hike on Friday, but before the hike we learned that it was closer to 9.5 miles. It was a great hike and everyone finished!

We voted to leave at 1:00 AM instead of 6:00 AM so that we could get back our families around 6:00 PM instead of 11:00 PM. Well, around 2:30 AM the bus broke down. By morning we were still sitting there on the side of a busy road NW of Denver. The bosses (who were still back in Estes Park) made the decision to fly us all back to DFW.

Most of us were back in Fort Worth at or before 6:00 PM. Colorado was beautiful, but there is nothing better than being home, especially with Travis and Bailey. I missed them so much!
