Fun Day at the Zoo

I took Monday off of work so that we could go to the zoo with my Mom. It was Bailey's second trip to the zoo. This day was perfect! The temperature was just right, it was cloudy so I didn't have to worry about the sun in Bailey's eyes and there wasn't a crowd at all. My word of advise: Don't go on a Friday at the end of the school year. Too many field trips!

Bailey liked the Aviary....

But he really LOVED the sharks!

Grandma and Grandpa's Arrival

My Dad had John Deere meetings in Dallas, so my Mom joined him on the trip so she could have some Bailey time. Look at that belly on that big boy!

This is a site I thought I'd NEVER see. My Dad, the John Deere man on a Ford!

Daddy's Yard Project

These were taken about two years ago! Travis was busy building a welding table and a backhoe in those two years. It looks about the same now, except that the terrace has been cut back more. As soon as it stop raining, Travis will pour footings and continue with the wall. But until then.... He is digging terraces in our backyard and in the neighbor's yards between rainstorms. The neighbors will be continuing the terraces that we are building, plus it gives them more usable yard.

We called Digtess to come out and mark all of the utility lines. They missed marking two phone lines, so Travis cut through one of them, spliced it back together, then cut through it again. It jumped about a foot and half deep to 2 inches deep within 8 inches. We ended up getting AT&T to come out and relocate that line because it was going across the street when the closest box is at the back corner of our yard. AT&T will come out again to mark another neighbors phone line. Then the digging can continue.

Most of these are rocks Travis dug out of the neighbor's yard. They had a layer of rock, so that is probably why they have always had standing water issues. Our neighbor will probably be using these rocks to build his terrace.

Photo Shoot on a Pretty Day

I thought all of these were sweet, so here they are.

This is Bailey's tough guy face.

Can I Ride?

We took a lot of great pictures of Bailey today. It was a decent Mother's Day for me. Bailey was a little fussy, so we would go outside and check out Daddy's progress on every hour or so. Bailey loves being outside! It's almost 11:00pm now, so I need to get ready for bed now. HOPEFULLY I'll post more pictures soon. I posted several entries today from March 24th thru April 13th. Good night for now!

Eyelashes

When Bailey was born, his eyelashes were thin and not very long. We assumed that he had my nonexistent eyelashes (which Travis was happy about). Travis has long eyelashes, but considers them a curse because they get in his eyes.... but I think they are pretty! Bailey definitely has his Daddy's pretty eyelashes.

Happy Boy (Hi Grandmas!!!)

These are posted just for Bailey's Grandmas, who miss him dearly. Grandma Gloe has been checking the blog twice a day with hopes of seeing a new picture of Bailey Boy.
The Grandmas are trying to talk us into going back to Amarillo this weekend. Traveling with a baby is crazy, as we found out Easter weekend. Hopefully I'll post pictures from the past couple of weeks this weekend.

Bluebonnets

The bluebonnets aren't around very long each year, so for fear that they would soon disappear, we headed out on a mostly cloudy day to take some pictures. Bailey sure didn't want to look at the camera. He was more interested in the little blue smelly things below him.... or maybe he was just wanting to eat his hand.

Travis wonders what everyone's obession is with getting pictures taken in the bluebonnets. There was a picture of a child in the bluebonnets on the front page of the local paper today. How many years do you take these type of pictures? How old is too old? Probably when Bailey would rather be rolling around in the grease with daddy instead of the flowers. Only time will tell, but that time may be sooner than later. He is growing up so fast!

No baby in this one, but I thought this was one of Travis's best shots (don't look too close or you will see the ugly power lines).

You're So Vain!

Bailey loves that his changing table is a dresser with a big mirror. He likes to look at himself and really giggles and coos when I sing "You're So Vain" to him. The song is all about Bailey!

First rainbow... and a view of Daddy's digging

It has been raining since Travis finished the backhoe (and a drought while he was working on it), so he hasn't been able to dig much. So far he has dug out the a terrace across the front yard. As soon as it stops raining for a while, he'll pour a concrete footing and continue building the stone wall. Notice the dirt yard? Beautiful isn't it? Actually, from the street, the yard looks pretty good because you can't see the dirt below.

Bailey's first rainbow.

Sleeping on the Job

Bailey is sleeping while Mommy works from home.

Big Kicker

I don't think I can post video, so this is the clostest thing to it. Bailey loves kicking. He pounds his legs down HARD! It's often the sound of him kicking that wakes me up bright and early in the mornings.

Easter Weekend

We finally made the a trip to Amarillo over Easter weekend (it had been over a year for me and 1.75 years for Travis since we had been to Amarillo). We typically take Stinky, so we have to pack up his kitty bed, litter box, food & water. Stinky usually takes up a lot of the back seat and part of the trunk (the back seat folds down so he has easy access to his litter box). Stinky didn't get to go this time, so Hairy the Rabbit really missed chasing Stinky around my Mom and Dad's house. Bailey's stuff took up all of the room, and of course we had more to bring home more than what we brought, thanks to all of the Grandmas (we DO appreciate it though). Travis made another trip to Amarillo two weeks later for his Dad's wedding so he brought back another load of stuff for Bailey then.

Bailey got to meet his Grandma & Grandpa Wilt for the first time! They came to see him all the way from northeast Missouri.

He also got to meet Reagan for the first time!

Dinner at Aunt Mindy's house: Next year he will be able to eat with the rest of us!

With Uncle Jason & Lori

Watching the big kids play with balloons.

We had been enjoying the upper 70s in DFW. It was freezing in Amarillo! At least it was miserably cold in DFW too while we were away.

Bailey Rolled Over!

Travis and I didn't see it, but Grandma and Grandpa Gloe did! Bailey rolled over from his front to his back on 4/5/07.
