Little Swimmer

Bailey went swimming for the first time today. He swam in the indoor pool at the Hampton Inn in Midwest City, OK. He had a blast. He went under twice with no crying. I showed him how to splash (which may not be a good thing), so then he just kept hitting the water with his hand. We can't wait to go swimming again!

Lenny's Wedding in OKC

On August 4th we headed to OKC for Lenny and CeCe's wedding. It was the first time Bailey had ever gone to another state.

Bailey never ceases to amaze me. He was laying on the floor in his room as I was folding his clothes. I looked over and he had the green ring on his left foot. I just thought it was an accident, but then I watched as he put the red ring on his right foot. I ran and grabbed the camera and got a shot of him putting the blue and white ring on his arm.

Busy Past Week!

Bailey has met so many new people in the past week and had so much fun! We ended our week of meeting new people with Heidi's Homecoming/Ironman/Meet Jonah party. Mr. Self Proclaimed Introvert (Travis) knew way more people than me, but we had a great time! Congratulations Heidi on all of your endeavors.

Play Ball!

Bailey attended his first baseball game today! He didn't see much of the Cats playing, but he loved the San Diego Famous Chicken and the little chickens that followed him around. Huckabee sponsored a family night at the ballpark, so Bailey got to meet lots of new people.

New Friend

Bailey met baby Ashtyn today. She is so tiny and sweet! Bailey is 4.5 months older.

Meeting new people

Bailey got to meet Jeff and Lisa for the first time Friday evening. These were taken as we were about to leave because Bailey was getting fussy, as he does when he needs a change of scenery or a different toy. Petting Jeff's face made things better temporarily. Bye bye Jeff and Lisa! We hope to see you again soon!

Little Sitter

Today I officially deam Bailey a sitter. He still falls over, but he can stay upright for about a minute if he doesn't think about what he is doing. I also posted his 6 month photoshoot pictures today (finally).

No avocado either

Bailey's doctor recommends that we give him food we eat instead of only baby food, so we tried avocado.

6 Month Check Up

This was Bailey's worst appointment ever! He had a piece of wax in his ear and it took the doctor several tries to get the hunk out. We have NEVER heard him cry like that before. To top it off, he got a shot, but it wasn't near as bad as the ear wax.

On a happier note, Bailey is 25 inches long and 17 lbs 2.5 oz. He's in the 50th percentile for length, weight and head circumference.

Bye Bye Grandmas!

Bailey had a great time with Great Grandma Eula and Grandma Dawn. He will miss them dearly.

Grandma Dawn gave Bailey this John Deere Gator, complete with a cow driving and popping balls in the trailer. Bailey likes the toy, but he prefers the cardboard that the toy was attached to.

Happy 4th of July!

In celebration of Independence Day, I figured out how to add an "Interesting Links" section to the blog! Check out Ron Paul's website! Bailey went outside when all of the neighbors set off their fireworks. He had his same goofy face on, with his bottom lip hanging out. He was a little confused, but didn't seem to mind the loud noises and bright lights.

It's getting very late and I have to work tomorrow, so I need to get ready for bed. I PROMISE I will post more Bailey pics this weekend. Hepefully I will get some sleep this weekend too.

Stress, Hair and Paper

It has been crazy for the past month. I started losing my hair in what I consider to be handfuls. Hair everywhere.... filling up my brush, on the floor, in the sink and shower, on my clothes, etc. I wondered if I was going bald because of stress. I finally looked it up on the internet and saw that it is normal and happens a few months after pregnancy. Supposedly after I finish with my hair loss, I will be back to where I was pre-pregnancy.

Hopefully I won't lose my nails! For the first time in my life, I have long nails! I used to be a MAJOR nailbiter. I reverted slightly because of stress a couple weeks before Bailey was born, but they are looking pretty good now, despite an increase of stress in my life.

I've been doing my job along with HR functions at work for the past month. It has been interesting getting to learn how to set up and remove employees from benefits (I am well practiced now), but I'm ready to pass it off to somebody else. We finally found the right person to take HR to a new level, but it's going to be a while before she can start.

But for now I'm way behind in just about everything in life... work, birthday cards, thank you notes, sending pictures, personal paperwork, Bible reading, magazine reading, mail at the house, printing pictures from my camera, updating Bailey's blog, etc. I just noticed that most of these include some type of paper that I am avoiding. I think I deal with so much paperwork at work that I just don't want to deal with it at the house. So it just piles up... Then more piles form....

The good thing is that I can most likely tell you where something is among all of the piles.
