Mini Photo Session

Bailey looked so cute in his little outfit, so I propped him up on the couch and had our own mini photo session.

We rarely see Bailey's neck, so I had to take a picture. It's so cute!!!

Two month appointment

Bailey's 2 month appointment was today. He weighed 12 pounds 4.5 oz and was 23 3/4" long. He got one shot and only cried for about 10-15 seconds. We'll go back in a month for one more!

Gabriel is 5 1/2 months older than Bailey! This was their first time to meet. They brought Gabriel's cool swing for Bailey to borrow (and to get it out of their house). It is huge!!!

Where's My Hair?

I'm not sure if it was from the scalp stimulation to prevent cradle cap or if it would have happened anyways, but Bailey looks like a bald man with hair still intact on the sides and back. It's starting to come back. He snores like an old man too!

Bailey's First Meeting

Bailey attended his first meeting at Huckabee on Jan. 25, 2007. It was a PIC Printing shareholders meeting and Bailey didn't really have anything to say. I guess we bored him because he slept through the whole thing.

It was a different story at Friday's State of Huckabee meeting. He knew I was eating so he decided he was hungry too (which is usually the case, especially after I get my plate ready - I'm getting used to eating cold food). I figured he would be hungry so I brought a bottle of milk. With each suck of the bottle there was a little squeek that everyone in the room could hear.

Froggy Belly's First Bath in the Big Tub!

Grandma Dawn gave Bailey his first bath in a big bathtub. He is so tiny in our big bathtub!

Ride the Dog!

We already tryed to "ride the cat" with Stinky. Grandma Dawn came to visit with Pippy, so it was time to ride the dog! Pippy was too fast on Bailey's first try, so Grandma Dawn had to told her down for the second try.

Bailey's a little too big for Pippy (4 lbs). For now Stinky (at 14 - 15 lbs) is a better fit for this baby!

Bailey's bed - for now...

This is how Bailey has been sleeping for the last three weeks:
1. In a bassinet right next to me (borrowed from Claudia, Mark & Reagan)
2. In a Kiddopotamus Beddie Bye from Robyn, Corey & Jaxson (when it isn't puked on)
3. Next to the sound of a heartbeat (taken out of the Slumber Bear from my Mom and Dad)

The heartbeat turns off after five minutes of no fairly large movements, but Bailey likes it so much that he hits it when it turns off. He started doing that at about five days old. It IS a little soothing when trying to go to sleep, as long as the volume isn't turned up too loud. I don't think Bailey has figured out that yet!

We're not sure how long Bailey will sleep in the bassinet. We'll see how he is doing at night after four weeks.

Maternity pics

Travis and I had maternity pictures taken on Dec. 19, 2006. The session was a gift from Jennifer Clariday, Marla Rhoades, Carol Cameron and Andrea Harrington of Huckabee. This is our "sneak peek" that we received so far. Lizzie Mace is the photographer. She did a great job. She really loved my "fabulous tum."

I was huge and this picture doesn't totally show it! My waist was a whopping 44" and I gained 39 pounds by the time I gave birth. Most of it was in my belly, so hopefully I will lose it fast!

What a busy day!

Friday, January 12th was a busy day for all of us! Bailey was two weeks old, so he had his first pediatrician appointment. Newborns are expected to be back to their birth weight by two weeks. Bailey actually gained 3/4 lb (and I was worried that he wasn't eating enough)!

Travis had to go to go to work, so Bailey and I went across the street to the hospital for round two of his newborn screening. What we were told would be a quick trip took FOREVER! Next we went thru our first drive thru, took a one minute trip into Jared's to pick up some paperwork then went up to my office.

Bailey ate his lunch and was in his typical "drunk on milk" state after eating, so Jennifer walked him around the office to meet everyone while I ate my cold lunch and did a little work. Bailey was exhausted after meeting so many people, so he slept for several hours. He even slept as I lugged him around the office in his carrier while handing out expense checks. He is a great helper!

Bailey Michael

Our little bundle of joy arrived on 12/29/06. We, or shall I say, I was a little concerned about naming him Bailey. I hope he isn't made fun of! If so, he can always go my Michael or Mike. Travis calls him his Little Buddy and lately I've been calling him Little Dude. He is also known as Stinky II (after our cat), although he doesn't stink yet. Anyways, I'm sure he will be very confused.

Anyways, he weighed 8 pounds 1.5 oz and was 20 3/4" long. Last night he only got me up once! That is great for me, but I hope he is getting enough "food." These photos are from January 9, 2007.

I'd like to thank everyone for your notes of "Congratulations." I'm really busy with Bailey, so I haven't responded, but they are very appreciated!

On a separate note...

THE BACKHOE IS FINISHED! Travis's goal was to finish before Bailey's arrival, but he got it done about a week later. He sure can make it rain! We've been in a drought for a couple years, but now the yard is too wet to dig. He tried anyways (because it is SOOOO FUN). The backhoe is a muddy mess now and the yard is a little torn up, but really no worse off that it was before.
